Mtskheta and Ananuri complex.

Duration of the tour is 4-5 hours.  During the tour we will visit ancient capital of Georgia Mtskheta, with its various, beautiful and unique churches and  architectural monuments. We will also walk  along the newly restored streets of the city. During the tour we will have dinner in a restaurant of Mtskheta and taste some delicious , traditional food and wine. Afterwards we will visit Ananuri complex, which is located near Zhinvali reservoir.

Tour description:

• The tour starts at 10am. Visiting Mtskheta. Starting with the cathedral Svetitskhoveli” (one of the largest historical church buildings among today’s survived ones in Georgia). Seeing the cathedral and the complex in the yard of “Svetitskhoveli”.

• Walking along the newly restored streets of Mtskheta.

• Visiting Samtavro Transfiguration Orthodex Church and Nunnery of St. Nino.  St Gabrieli’s grave, which has attracted increasing number of pilgrims.

• Having  dinner in Georgian restaurant, tasting Georgian, traditional food and having a little rest.

• Visiting Jvari Monastery, which is in the list of inheritance of the world. There is also a stunning view to Mtskheta from the entrance of the Monastery.

• After a half an hour trip, we will visit complex Ananuri. The two churches and the fortress overlook the Zhinvali water reservoir. Ananuri complex is one of the most important architectural monuments of the late middle ages.
